Last weekend Josh Staiger, Andrew Prawat, and Jeremy Prawat traveled to Purdue University to spend a weekend with elite high school musicians from all over the state.
These students, selected for All-State Band through a rigorous audition process, prepared several difficult works for Concert Band, and performed them in a Sunday afternoon concert at Purdue's Elliott Hall of Music. After passing the audition, students were divided into two bands: The All-State Band and the All-State Honor Band.
Jeremy Prawat, freshman percussion, was selected to perform with the All-State Band. He is the first freshman to qualify for this band in the past 12 years.
Andrew Prawat, senior clarinet, and Josh Staiger, junior clarinet, were selected to perform in the All-State Honor band. They are the first Bremen students of any grade to qualify for the higher All-State Honor Band. This is the second time Josh has qualified, having made it into the All-State band last year.
